I’m delighted to be selected for the crafts council hothouse programme for 2013. Hothouse South West is being run in partnership with the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Plymouth University. Hothouse provides 40 emerging makers (those defined as being within two years of setting up a practice) with a programme of focused, intensive business skills and creative development, complemented with 1:1 support over a six month period.

I’ll also be joined on the programme by Bath School of art Alumni – Keith Varney.

The programme comprises of group sessions on developing business skills, market knowledge and creativity; networking events which bring participants together as a national group; support from a peer buddy from a past cohort; 1:1 sessions with a specialist mentor from the sector.

ARY Collection

During New Designers: One Year On I launched my ARY Collection. I was a little nervous before the build but it was a brilliant show. I met some great fellow designers and made some promising contacts. I hope to have some good news soon. In the mean time, the shop is on its way so here are a few pictures of the collection.

I am very excited to announce that I have been selected to be one of 58 amazing talents to show at this years…New Designers: One Year On!

This is a focused zone, showcasing a group of young designers within their first year of business that show an entrepreneurial flare and a strong body of work.Jethro Macey will curate One Year On again in 2012. Jethro Macey runs an award winning design practice. Working on a vast array of projects his work spans many disciplines including furniture, product & interiors. I am looking forward to working with him during the lead up to the show.

Here is just a sneak peak of what to expect from Annabel Williams Textiles…

Come and visit me and all of the other great talent at the Business Design Centre. I will be exhibiting during Part 1: 27th – 30th June 2012.

January brings the HOME LONDON 2012 show where I will be showing one of my woven lampshades, along with many fabulous designers as part of the 5ml design collective.

The launch of HOME, a new retail trade show from Clarion Events. Tent – London Design Festival 2011

Tent London is one of the largest design trade shows taking place during the London Design Festival. Now in its fifth year at the Old Truman Brewery, Tent presents over 200 international exhibitors, showing the latest in contemporary interior products.

Since setting it up in my new studio I have been busy weaving new pieces for Tent London 2011.

Woven light Panels and glowing Shades

My most recent work has taken the form of self-contained light boxes and table top shades.

All the pieces have been built using acrylic sheet or polished tubing.

Each panel is handmade and covered with a tailored piece of woven cloth to create bespoke lighting pieces.
